Jennie Larsson

I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is at the heart of any meaningful change. Before anything else, you need to feel that the person you’re speaking to genuinely understands you, and that the space you share is a safe one.

I bring warmth, honesty and professional experience to every piece of work I do. I won’t pretend therapy is easy – it often requires courage and real effort – but I’ll be alongside you for every step of it.

My background

I am a Senior Clinical Psychologist, with over 15 years of experience working with people experiencing a range of psychological difficulties. I am accredited in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) through the Association for Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ACAT) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). As well as CAT I have done training in and draw upon Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), providing an integrated psychological approach.

Why I chose CAT

I trained in CAT because I saw, again and again, that people don’t just need someone to help them manage symptoms, they need to understand themselves. CAT is a therapy that takes people seriously as complex human beings with histories, relationships, and deeply-held beliefs about who they are and what they deserve.

What I love about CAT is that it’s genuinely collaborative. I don’t sit behind a clipboard deciding what’s ‘wrong’ with you. We build the picture together, and that shared understanding becomes a tool you keep long after our sessions end.

A note on my approach

I know that coming to therapy, especially for the first time, or after difficult previous experiences of services, takes real courage. My aim is always for you to feel genuinely heard and respected from the very first contact.

I work with a diverse range of clients and take great care to ensure my practice is sensitive to issues of culture, identity, race and lived experience. Whoever you are, you are welcome here.
